The District has long been a leader in the planning and execution of Water Conservation initiatives. Over the past 15 years, the District has completed numerous capital improvement projects, including the installation of turnouts on the Friant-Kern Canal to import Central Valley Project (CVP) water, the construction of the CVC–Calloway Canal Intertie to import water from the State Water Project, the Calloway Canal lining project, the Drought Resiliency Project, and a variety of water delivery efficiency upgrades. These efforts have been supported by approximately $47 million in grant funding from the Bureau of Reclamation and the California Department of Water Resources (DWR).
