To help reduce these significant energy expenses and lower water tolls for its landowners, the District partnered with White Pine Renewables to develop a large-scale solar project. Through this partnership, White Pine facilitated the District’s enrollment in PG&E’s RES BCT program and financed the construction of a 14 MW solar facility. The system is split between two locations: 7.5 MW at the Rosedale Spreading site and 6.5 MW at the Wrightfield Spreading site. White Pine fully funded the project, and under the 30-year contract, the District will purchase power at $0.076 per KWH—roughly 160% less than PG&E’s standard volumetric rates.
